Fixing paper jams on Photosmart printers
If you run into a paper jam while using your Photosmart series printer, you are going to want to first make sure a few things are right before you go calling a tech support team to fix the problem. First, you are going to want to try to removing the ink tray. While leaving the printer on, simply lift the top tray, and see if the ink tray is properly set in and in line. This might lead to a jam if the ink cartridge is not completely in, or if you are using a compatible ink cartridge, but not one which is the printer name’s brand. So, if this is the problem, simply pop the ink cartridge back into the ink tray, and your job should be on its way in no time.
You may also want to check if there are any levers in the printer which allow the user to change the paper size, prior to doing a print job. If it does, and you recently have changed paper sizes, you may need to readjust the levers, in order to get things in line. You also must check if the printer is offline (when using wireless devices like a laptop). If so, you are going to have to restart the printer, and bring it back online.
